Sunday, January 28th
On 28th January, 7.30pm, 2018 we are staging our Variety Show at Lancaster Grand Theatre. All money raised from ticket sales and the raffle will be distributed to local groups working with people suffering with mental health issues. The variety show’s aim is to raise funds for the groups which support people alongside the NHS, support local medics who are reimagining the treatment of mental health involving patient experts and, on top of this, also to raise awareness of the fact that mental health issues can affect absolutely anyone at any time. We need to lose the stigma associated with mental health and take on board the fact that lawyers, doctors, GPs, teachers, celebrities and anyone we come into contact with are equally susceptible. It's not something that should bring judgement on the sufferer and is an illness which deserves treatment without bias, just the same as any physical condition.
The show will include various amazing acts, with solo artists, bands, comedy, modern magic, street dance and much more. At the end of Act One a choir formed of mental health patients together with local NHS and mental health charity workers will perform “Love My Life” by Robbie Williams. Not only will this be a chance for all of us to support each other in what will definitely be a challenge, but also the lyrics are poignant and deliver a powerful message that however difficult a person is finding life at the moment, with the help of the community and medical experts, the future can be more positive.
Join us for an evening of great entertainment and support the excellent work going on in Lancashire and Cumbria
