Bay Radio Limited is fully committed to ensuring that children and vulnerable adults attending our facilities, or our events, are protected and kept safe from harm. It is the duty of all those who work for Bay Radio including volunteers to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
As part of their commitment to be the best Local radio station they can be, Bay Radio holds workshops, outside events and studio tours for young people, students and vulnerable adults. Bay Radio wants local people to have access to our radio station in order for them to feel included in the local community. There are many feel good benefits for both Bay Radio, and our listeners, of involving members of our transmission areas in our activities.
The Managers and employees of Bay Radio will be given basic training in accordance with the most up to date advice from the NSPCC and Lancashire County Council.
Bay Radio staff will respect the rights and dignity of children. They will ensure children are treated equally and sensitively, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, cultural background, sexual orientation or religion, in line with Bay Radio & CN Group Equal Opportunities Policy.
Bay Radio employees will ensure that they uphold these principals regardless of how they interact with children, in person, via social networking, at events or within our building.
Bay Radio will ensure that any freelance contractor, who will be working with children, is deemed suitable to work with children.
If a child, or vulnerable adult, shares important information with a member of Bay Radio’s staff, Bay Radio’s management team will ensure the team member knows how to report the information. The management team will then deal with reporting in accordance with current NSPCC guidelines.

Bay Radio’s management team will ensure that there is a robust reporting procedure for any incidents involving, or any information shared with, staff members by young people. Any report will be taken seriously by the Management Team and acted upon accordingly.
Bay Radio is part of CN Group and all our policy documents are detailed in our company hand book and ‘The way we are’ document. These are given to all staff members as part of their induction. They spell out our polices including recruitment, normal operating procedures, equal opportunities, complaints and grievance, disciplinary, health and safety and whistle blowing policies. All of these policies are also available on the company intranet.
