A Loneliness Summit is being held at Lancaster Town Hall today (Wednesday).
The free event - which has been organised by Lancaster City Council and Age UK, takes place between 2pm and 5.30pm.
It aims to raise awareness of loneliness in the Lancaster district at this time of year - and to highlight support that's available to all ages.
A wide range of clubs, groups and organisations will have information stands at the event and there will be short presentations by people who have experienced the effects of loneliness first hand and by various groups who can offer activities to suit all ages.
