A yellow weather warning for both wind and rain is still due to come into force tomorrow (Wednesday), which could cause more disruption from flooding.
Further rainfall is expected to arrive across much of northern England during the early hours of Wednesday, with the warning in place from 6am tomorrow, until 3am on Thursday.
The rain will become persistent and heavy at times over high ground before clearing early on Thursday.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Some very strong winds are also likely in association with this system with gusts of 60mph possible in places, for which a separate warning has been issued. This could prove a further hazard."
The wind warning for both Cumbria and Lancashire will be in force from midday tomorrow until 11.30pm tomorrow.
