Morecambe and Lunesdale MP David Morris has reacted after anti-fracking protesters blocked two north Lancashire quarries this morning.
The campaigners stopped vehicles on Kellet Road, near Carnforth.
The tailback of lorries trying to access the quarries caused knock-on traffic problems.
Mr. Morris says they were from the Bristol-based organisation 'Reclaim the Power'.
He condemned the action - calling it futile and a waste of everyone's time.
David Morris MP said: “This morning a group of activists from Bristol, coordinated by an organization called Reclaim the Power, has blockaded two quarries in my constituency and blocked the B6254 Kellet Road for a time causing disruption to people on their way to work and school apparently in a futile attempt to oppose fracking. I condemn in the strongest terms this irresponsible intimidation of companies and road users trying to go about their lawful business and get on with their daily lives. The Police have a difficult enough time without having to devote resources to manage people from outside the area who are wasting everyone’s time and standing in the way of jobs and opportunity for local people.”
