Barrow's Business Improvement District team has teamed up with The Forum to promote the town centre in the run up to Christmas - with prizes on offer for luck winners.
With The Forum’s Christmas pantomime this year being Cinderella, the BID is holding a Glass Slipper Treasure Hunt to link with the panto.
The event will be launched at 11am on Saturday 18th November at The Forum at 11am, by Cinderella herself.
She will be accompanied by Buttons and will declare that she has lost her Glass Slipper and the only way she can find it is with the help of her friends who must follow the clues around Barrow town centre to find it for her.
As each participant follows the trail, they will eventually discover where the Glass Slipper is hidden. Every person that finds the Glass Slipper will be given a certificate to hand in and they will be invited to a Grand Draw at The Forum on Sunday 10th December to see if they have won a prize.
The draw will be carried out by Cinderella and the cast of the panto.
The prizes are:
1st Prize – Family ticket to see The Panto on Sunday 17 th December for 2 adults and 2 children. The winners will be picked up from your home in a stretch-limousine, provided by Full Stretch, and brought to The Forum where they will also enjoy a free pre-performance meal.
2nd Prize – Family Ticket as above with drinks during the interval.
3rd Prize – Family Ticket, as above
BID Manager, Phil Collier, said: “This is a going to be a fabulous event and gives the children a real opportunity to engage with the cast of Cinderella and to feel part of the pantomime.
"I really do hope that lots of families get on board with this event and so serve the dual aim of having great fun, whilst at the same time, supporting the local economy.
“It is great for the BID to be linking up with The Forum for this event. This is exactly what the BID is about and we’d love to link with more of our local businesses for events and other initiatives going forward.”
