A new extension to an Ulverston-based Plastic Bottles Company has been officially opened.
After performing the opening ceremony, Furness MP John Woodcock said the Plastic Bottles Company was another example of how the spirit of enterprise was paying off in Ulverston.
He said: “From modest beginnings in 2006 the company has grown into a major exporter that employs around a dozen people and is deeply rooted in the Ulverston community.
"Glenn and Julie Doherty started this project around a kitchen table with not much more than a laptop, an idea and a bit of hope.
“Through imagination, hard work and strong support from a dedicated team of workers, they now expect turnover to exceed £3m by 2020.
“Plastic Bottles Company is emerging as another Ulverston success story and it was a pleasure to open its extended premises.”
Julie Doherty said: “Glenn and I were delighted that our local MP John Woodcock was able to join us to officially open our expanded headquarters and help celebrate our success.
"It was lovely to mark this special occasion in the company of the people who made this possible including our wonderful team, suppliers and family and friends.”
