Kendal College Retains Position As One Of The Country's Best

Kendal College has retained its place as one of the top colleges in the country for the second consecutive year in industry league tables published this month.

In results mirroring 2016, Kendal College narrowly missed out on the number one spot by just one point to Exeter College, finishing in joint second place.

The league tables were comprised by FE Week – the premier news service for the further education and skills sector in England – using key criteria published by the Department for Education.

The tables judge all of England’s 202 colleges in four categories: learner satisfaction, employer satisfaction, 16-18 positive progression and adults into employment.

Despite missing out on the top spot, Kendal College’s employer and learner satisfaction rates have consistently remained among the highest of any college in the country. However, this year’s result has been the strongest yet with full marks for both.

Graham Wilkinson, Principal at Kendal College, said: “We’re delighted that Kendal College continues to remain at the top of these tables following on from last year’s successful result. We appreciate the views of both our employers and students, and are very proud of our data and our strong record for ensuring students’ progress to long-term employment.

“These tables analyse more than 200 colleges across the country so we cannot underestimate how significant the results are and what a fantastic achievement it is for everyone involved at Kendal College.”

The top-scoring colleges were Exeter, with Kendal, Barnsley, Petroc (in Devon), and Northampton in joint second place. Just Exeter and Kendal Colleges retained the same positions in the top five as last year.

Kendal College holds regular Open Evenings throughout the year for people to find out more about the College and the range of courses and apprenticeships available.
